MOSCOW, November 14 (RIA Novosti) - Surgutneftegaz [RTS: SNGS] said Tuesday its retained earnings, calculated to Russian Accounting Standards (RAS), declined 15%, year-on-year, in the first nine months of 2006, to 74.15 billion rubles (about $2.7 billion).
The Siberian oil and gas producer said sales rose 21.9% in the reporting period, to 389.78 billion rubles (about $14.4 billion), and gross profit increased 11.2%, to 141.9 billion rubles (about $5.3 billion).
At the same time, the company said the prime cost of products rose 28%, year-on-year, in January-September 2006, to 247.88 billion rubles (about $9.1 billion).
Surgutneftegaz is included in the RUXX (Russian Industrial Leaders Index), a new composite economic index of Russian companies with financial instruments (shares and depository receipts) placed on major world trading floors, including the New York Stock Exchange, the London Stock Exchange, Nasdaq and AMEX.
