MOSCOW, November 15 (RIA Novosti) - U.S. sanctions against Russian state arms exporting agency Rosoboronexport and state-owned plane maker Sukhoi is a case of unfair competition, a senior official with the arms exporting agency said Wednesday.

The United States announced August 4 that two-year sanctions had been imposed on Rosoboronexport and Sukhoi over their cooperation with Iran and alleged violations of non-proliferation commitments.

Alexander Brindikov, the head of Rosoboronexport general director's advisory council, said Russia has been facing unfair competition and resistance on behalf of some players on the world arms market since the country began strengthening its position as a leading exporter of military-related products.

"U.S. economic sanctions against Rosoboronexport and Sukhoi are a typical display of unfair competition," Brindikov said.

On Wednesday, senior officials and heads of the security departments of defense enterprises and agencies, representatives of state structures, as well as of organizations dealing with the production of military oriented products, gathered to discuss information security in military and technical cooperation.
