Mikhail Kamynin said "those behind terrorist acts aim to worsen the situation in Iraq even further, hoping to thwart efforts to reach stability in the country, and spreading fear, confrontation and hatred in Iraqi society."
"This situation calls for real steps toward national reconciliation and broad dialogue in the country," he said.
The Russian diplomat urged leaders of all ethnic and religious groups and political forces "to demonstrate a high level of responsibility for the future of Iraq, and to combine efforts to bring back peace, security and stability to the country."
