MOSCOW, November 25 (RIA Novosti) - A criminal investigation is underway to track down those behind a bomb explosion that occurred on the premises of Moscow University Saturday morning, prosecutors said.
The homemade bomb, planted in the hallway of a university dormitory, went off at about 5 a.m. Moscow time (2 a.m. GMT), slightly injuring one person. The power of the explosion was equivalent to an estimated 50 grams of TNT.
After evacuating students from the residential hall, housed in a Stalin-era highrise, police combed the building only to discover one more homemade explosive device.
"During the search, another homemade explosive device, with a force equivalent to at least 500 grams of TNT, was found and destroyed," the Prosecutor's General Office said.
Prosecutors have opened a case on suspicion of hooliganism.
