LONDON, December 9 (RIA Novosti) - A British court has sentenced a Russian tycoon's UK-based son to 6.5 years in prison for provoking a road accident in London that left one person dead and seven others injured.
Ivan Mazur Jr., whose father is the chief executive of Russian energy company Rosneftegazstroi, pleaded guilty to charges of drunk driving and overspeeding, which were brought against the 22-year-old after his Mitsubishi car swerved into the oncoming traffic lane and hit a BMW on November 6 last year.
Mazur's British friend who was riding in the front seat did not survive the crash.
