MOSCOW, December 25 (RIA Novosti) - At least 11 people have been killed in a traffic accident in the republic of Kabardino-Balkaria in Russia's North Caucasus, a spokesman for the Ministry of Emergency Situations said Monday.
Viktor Beltsov said the people were killed when a passenger minivan collided with a cargo minivan and "as a result of the accident one of the cars exploded and caught fire."
He added that the explosion was apparently caused by a gas tank installed in one of the cars. Investigators working at the scene are trying to establish the cause of the accident.
