TBILISI, January 24 (RIA Novosti) - A former president of the Georgian International Gas Corporation has turned himself in to prosecutors in the South Caucasus nation, and confessed to embezzlement and corruption, a local television company said Wednesday.
David Ingorokva, who was put on the country's wanted list two months ago, has confessed to involvement in the misuse of funds and corrupt deals, and has paid 50,000 laris ($29,200) to be released on bail, Rustavi-2 said.
Ingorokva resigned from his post in the gas corporation November 10 and left the ex-Soviet republic before being put on the wanted later in the month. His successor at the post, Irakly Chogovadze, resigned after eight days in office.
Ingorokva and his lawyer declined to comment on the case.
