MOSCOW, January 30 (RIA Novosti) - The head of Russia's Security Council said Tuesday the situation in Iraq is unacceptable, and a timetable for the withdrawal of foreign forces should be worked out as soon as possible.
"There is no clear answer to the question of what should be done. But it is perfectly clear that the situation is unacceptable," Igor Ivanov said at a RIA Novosti news conference.
"We have always acted on the assumption that there should be negotiations with legitimate representatives of the Iraqi people, which should produce a plan for further action," he said
He said the plan should include a timetable for the pullout of occupation forces from Iraq and the transfer of power to legitimate representatives.
