MOSCOW, January 31 (RIA Novosti) - The turnover of the housing rental market in Russia's capital totals about $4 billion per year, a spokesman for the Moscow housing registration service (Moszhilservis) said Wednesday.
The spokesman said that around 120,000 Muscovites own two or more apartments, but only 6,000 (5%) of these last year declared income from leasing their properties with the tax service.
About 2 million people from other cities and towns currently rent apartments in the capital, according to the service's data.
