"A site near the city of Volgodonsk has been selected for the new enterprise's construction, which will take 18 months. About 2,000 people will be involved in the construction," Lyubov Solodovnik said.
The Rostov Region attracts Turkish investors by the volume of metal scrap passing through the region, the availability of transport routes, a convenient geographical position, the region's requirement for metal products and its location close to a power source (the Volgodonsk nuclear power plant), the press secretary said.
KURUM Holding specializes in the production of reinforcement bars and other metal products for the construction industry, and also construction materials. Its enterprises operate in Turkey, Albania and Kosovo.
The new enterprise will create 20,000 new jobs, the press secretary said.
