Mikhail Kamynin, the official spokesman for the Foreign Ministry, said the visit is expected to highlight the Middle East peace process and Russia's proposal to hold an international Middle East conference. The sides will also discuss ways of stabilizing the situation in Iraq.
"Discussion will focus on how to bring real national reconciliation with the help of effective international support and coordination of the mandate of multinational forces," Kamynin said.
Iran's controversial nuclear program and the crisis in Lebanon will also be on the agenda.
Lavrov will meet with the foreign minister of the UAE, Abdallah bin Zayid al-Nuhayyan, and Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
