Gazprom said consolidation of all export activity in one export channel will significantly raise Gazprom's export potential, and that the clear division of its finances will increase their transparency and raise sales efficiency.
"The management committee recognized that it was expedient to carry out Gazprom and its subsidiaries' export activity through a single channel of Gazprom export, including sales of liquefied hydrocarbon gases, nitrogen mineral fertilizers, ammonia, methanol, gas condensate, oil and oil products," the service said.
Gazprom Export general director Alexander Medvedev said in January gas exports of Gazprom Export (called Gazexport until November 1, 2006) to countries outside of the former U.S.S.R. were 151.1 billion cubic meters in 2006. He also said the export arm's total earnings reached $39 billion in 2006, including $37.2 billion of Gazprom's exports to non-CIS nations.
As for oil and oil products, Gazprom's main oil asset Gazprom Neft [RTS: SIBN] exports all its production through a 100% subsidiary, Sibneft Oil Trade (Siboil). Gazprom Neft exports some 38-40% of produced oil and 20-25% of produced oil products.
Consolidated oil production of Gazprom Neft in 2006 was 44.4 million metric tons, refining stood at 24.4 million tons.
