TBILISI, February 24 (RIA Novosti) - Gusts of strong wind have damaged the roof of a new terminal at the airport in the capital of Georgia, the Novosti-Georgia news agency said Saturday.
The new terminal at the Tbilisi International Airport, which has been constructed by two Turkish firms under a $62.5-million project, officially opened on February 7.
The wind has ripped several metal strips from the roof, forcing the airport staff to climb the building in an attempt to prevent further damage to the cover, the agency reported.
The airport authorities said the incident does not threaten the safety of passengers or aircraft and will not affect regular air traffic.
