The rock collapsed at 11:45 a.m. local time (4:45 a.m. GMT) Sunday at the Dzerzhinsky mine in the city of Prokopyevsk in the Kemerovo Region in southwestern Siberia, the press office said.
According to the latest information, the missing miner was close to the site of the rock collapse and came to the surface on his own.
It was earlier reported that 220 miners were underground when the rock fell. All of them, except four miners, were brought to the surface. The regional emergencies center later said three miners came to the surface on their own.
Kemerovo Region governor Aman Tuleyev has expressed his condolences to the family of the dead miner and said the family will receive financial aid of no less than 1 million rubles (about $38,000) in compensation.
