The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) reported Friday that Iran had ignored a UN Security Council demand to halt its uranium enrichment program and was seeking to expand the program.
"Iran has obtained technology to produce nuclear fuel and Iran's move is like a train without brakes and a rear gear," Ahmadinejad said.
The Islamic Republic has been under international pressure since it resumed uranium enrichment in January 2006, which some Western countries suspect is part of a covert nuclear weapons program. Tehran has always denied the claims.
In December, the UN Security Council imposed limited sanctions on Iran over its reluctance to suspend uranium enrichment and set a deadline that expired Wednesday. The Islamic Republic that insists its nuclear program is peaceful ignored the deadline and could now face stringent sanctions and isolation.
