KRASNOYARSK, March 3 (RIA Novosti) - The number of guests hospitalized with food poisoning symptoms following a governor ball in a Siberian city has risen to at least 100, a senior health official said Saturday.
There are no serious poisoning cases, said Viktor Shevchenko, the top health official of Krasnoyarsk, said.
The ball thrown by the Krasnoyarsk governor, Alexander Khloponin, on March 1 gathered more than 1,400 people, said the governor's spokesman, Igor Astapov.
"Medics have said all the poisoned people show signs of salmonella infection," Astapov said, adding that the final results would be ready Tuesday.
Khloponin, a former chairman of the board in the Norilsk Nickel giant, has taken investigation under personal control.
