ST. PETERSBURG, March 16 (RIA Novosti) - Police have seized 11 kilograms of heroin, the biggest haul this year, in Russia's second largest city, a St. Petersburg drug control service said Friday.
"Drug police found a stash of narcotic substances in one of the buildings on Yury Gagarin Prospect during a search operation," the press office of the service said.
Heroin, which was stowed in preserve tins, had presumably been delivered from Tajikistan, a Central Asian state bordering on Afghanistan. A 15-year-old Tajik national was arrested in the apartment.
