Speaking in Denmark following extended negotiations and a meeting with Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen, which focused on Ukraine's integration into the EU, Yushchenko said: "We consider developing contacts with the EU, primarily in the energy sector, to be the most promising area"
In Denmark, Western-leaning Yushchenko also discussed Ukraine's accession to the WTO and prospects for establishing a free trade zone with the EU.
Yushchenko reaffirmed his confidence in that "Ukraine will complete a complicated stage of talks on its accession to the WTO in the first half of this year and will start dialog on a free trade zone with its European partners."
International issues were also raised, including ways of settling the post-Soviet conflict between Moldova and its breakaway region of Transdnestr.
Yushchenko also discussed cooperation with Hans Skov Kristensen, Director General of the Confederation of Danish Industries. They also considered holding a Ukrainian-Danish investment forum in the Crimea later this year.
