Oil output in the first two months of 2007 reached 79.4 million metric tons (594 million barrels).
Oil companies Rosneft, LUKoil, Gazprom Neft and Surgutneftegaz emerged as leaders in oil output growth in January-February 2007, with their shares in nationwide production standing at 17.8%, 19%, 6.7% and 13.3%, respectively.
According to the Industry and Energy Ministry, oil exports in January-February 2007 stood at 39.8 million metric tons (298 million barrels), up 0.3%, year-on-year. The share of CIS countries in oil exports was 5 million tons (37.4 million barrels).
Natural gas production in January-February reached 116 billion cubic meters, down 0.2%, due to warm weather and reduced gas consumption and exports.
Independent gas producers and oil companies produced 18.6 billion cubic meters, up 4.2% year-on-year. Their share in nationwide gas production grew by 0.7% and totaled 16.1%.
In January-February 2007, gas monopoly Gazprom reduced production by 0.9%, year-on-year. The giant's share in gas production across Russia fell by 0.7% and stood at 16.1%.
The Industry and Energy Ministry said natural gas exports in January-February totaled 32.4 billion cubic meters, including 7.2 billion cubic meters to the CIS.
