ASTANA, March 28 (RIA Novosti) - More than 200 construction workers have been diagnosed with food poisoning in a western province of Kazakhstan, a senior regional official said Wednesday.
Sarsenbai Gensigenov, deputy governor of the Atyrau region, said, "226 people employed in the construction of a natural gas processing plant in the village of Karabatan got food poisoning from the cafeteria March 27."
Gensigenov said those affected included 180 guest workers from Turkey.
All of them reportedly have a fever, but their condition is not life-threatening, he said.
