TEHRAN/MOSCOW, April 2 (RIA Novosti) - A senior Iranian nuclear official in charge of the Bushehr nuclear power plant project, which Russia is constructing, has stepped down from his post, a source close to the facility said Monday.
Mahmoud Jannatian, vice president of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), left after handing his resignation a few weeks ago, presumably over managerial problems.
The AEOI is Iran's main official body responsible for implementing regulations and operating nuclear energy installations.
Earlier this year, Russia suspended fuel deliveries to Bushehr, citing delays in the financing of the project by the Iranian side.
