NALCHIK, April 8 (RIA Novosti) - Seven persons have been injured in a gas tank explosion in the capital of the North Caucasus Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria, the regional emergencies department said Sunday.
"On Sunday, at about 12:40 p.m. Moscow time (08:40 a.m. GMT), an explosion occurred in a private home in Nalchik," the emergencies department said.
According to preliminary data, a gas tank exploded in the house due to violation of gas equipment operation rules, the emergencies department said.
As a result of the explosion, seven persons have been hospitalized, two of them in grave condition, the emergencies department said.
An investigation into the incident has been launched, the emergencies department said.
