GROZNY, April 8 (RIA Novosti) - Two police officers have been killed in a clash with militants in the Republic of Chechnya in Russia's troubled North Caucasus region, a source in the republic's interior ministry said Sunday.
The clash occurred late Saturday near the village of Bas-Gordali in south-eastern Chechnya on the border of the Nozhai-Yurt and Vedeno districts, when police encountered a group of militants during a security operation, the source said.
Local law-enforcement bodies are taking measures to apprehend the militants, the source said.
