ASTANA, April 12 (RIA Novosti) - Kazakhstan's gross domestic product (GDP) grew more than 10% in the first quarter of 2007, the press service of the Kazakhstan presidential press office said Thursday.
Energy-rich Kazakhstan projects its GDP growth to stand at 8.6% in 2007. Last year, Kazakhstan's GDP expanded 10.6%.
"Stable macroeconomic growth is a solid foundation for building the rate of Kazakhstan's integration into the world economy. In particular, in the first quarter of 2007, GDP increased more than 10% while output grew 11% in the manufacturing industry and 19% in the production of machinery and equipment. Nominal wages of Kazakh citizens increased 26% in the first quarter of this year," the press office said.
