NEW YORK, April 16 (RIA Novosti) - On Monday, Sotheby's will open its first sale of Russian art this year.

In the run-up to the sale, Sotheby's said that last year it was the premier venue for buying and selling Russian art, which brought in almost $154 million.

"Vision of St. Sergius, when a child," a painting dated 1922 by artist Mikhail Nesterov, will be the most expensive lot, priced at $3 million.

"The Inspector General" by Bori Grigoryev, "Mongol Tsam" by Nicholas Roerich and "Lady with a Parasol" by Natalia Goncharova cost about $1 million each.

Traditional Faberge items will also be featured.
