MOSCOW, April 24 (RIA Novosti) - The Russian Interior Ministry has exposed 148 terrorist and extremist Web sites since early this year, the interior minister said Tuesday.
Following a meeting of the Russia-EU Partnership Council on the common space of freedom, security and justice, Rashid Nurgaliyev said that over 70 extremist Web sites had been found in the Russian network, 49 in the U.S., six in the Netherlands, five in Germany, four in Britain, three in Canada, and two in Turkey. He said that the relevant information had been transferred to law enforcers in the respective countries.
The minister called for joining forces in developing common mechanisms for preventing terrorists from using the global IT space and said it was necessary to develop international cooperation to solve complex problems in IT security and fight cyber terrorism.
