ASHGABAT, May 4 (RIA Novosti) - The Turkmen parliament gave the country's president the military rank of army general Friday.
Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov is the fourth man in Turkmen history to receive the rank, after the late president, Saparmurat Niyazov, the former KGB chairman and later defense minister, Danatar Kopekov, and the current defense minister, Agageldy Mammetgeldyev.
