ANKARA, May 22 (RIA Novosti) - At least three people were killed and over 40 injured in a powerful explosion in the center of the Turkish capital Tuesday, the local NTV channel reported.
Police said the explosion, which occurred in Ankara's busy commercial district, was likely a terrorist act that could have been perpetrated by a suicide bomber, NTV said.
The station also quoted Ankara Governor Kemal Onal as saying the explosion could have been the result of a car accident.
