MOSCOW, May 23 (RIA Novosti) - The warm weather continues in Moscow as temperatures hit a record high of 29.6 degrees Celsius Wednesday, a meteorological spokesman said.
"On Wednesday a temperature of 29.6 degrees Celsius (85.28 Fahrenheit) was recorded at the meteorological station," the spokesman said.
The temperature for May 23 is a record for Moscow, the previous highest record was 29.5 degrees (85.1 Fahrenheit) which was registered in 2005. The meteorological bureau did not rule out that by the end of the day temperatures could climb even higher.
This is not the first time this year that Moscow has experienced record temperatures in an unusually warm year, with March 21 being the warmest day for 125 years, and January being the mildest since observations began 130 years ago.
