MOSCOW, June 11 (RIA Novosti) - Russian and British men-of-war have met up in the northwestern Atlantic for an international exercise that will also involve ships from France and the United States, a spokesman for Russia's navy said Monday.

"A squadron of Russian warships, including the submarine destroyer Admiral Chabanenko and the ocean-going tanker Sergei Osipov, joined the Royal Navy Type 23 frigate HMS Portland in the northwestern Atlantic," said Russian Navy Chief Communications Officer Igor Dygalo.

The ships will practice coordinated maneuvering techniques before heading on to the naval base in Norfolk, he said.
