MOSCOW, July 6 (RIA Novosti) - A Russian Finance Ministry source said Friday Russia may strike a debt deal with Afghanistan by the end of this month.
Experts say up to 90% of the Afghan debt to Russia estimated at $11 billion could be written off under a Paris Club agreement. Russian Deputy Finance Minister Sergei Storchak said in April Moscow was contemplating an "extensive write-off."
