MOSCOW, July 10 (RIA Novosti) - President Vladimir Putin congratulated Tuesday Al Gurnov, a leading journalist at Russia's English-language television channel Russia Today, on his 50th birthday.
Gurnov was one of the founders of post-Soviet Russian television and was a top journalist of Russia's first independent news program Vesti before moving to Russia Today.
"Your prominent professional career, innovative projects and civil activism have contributed to the development of Russia's modern electronic media," Putin said in his congratulatory telegram.
