DAMASCUS, July 14 (RIA Novosti) - A truck collided with two passenger cars in central Syria killing 16 people, including three children form one family, the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported Saturday.
The car crash occurred 20 km west of Rakka in central Syria. All 16 passengers of the cars, including three children form one family and three women, died instantly, the director of a local hospital said.
Police said the truck had turned abruptly to a subsidiary road causing a crash.
The SANA agency said car crashes were frequent in the area because some road sectors had long been blocked for repair.
