MOSCOW, July16 (RIA Novosti) - A total of 223 servicemen have died in 8,097 accidents and other non-combat incidents registered in the Russian Armed Forces since the beginning of the year, the Defense Ministry said Monday.
The ministry's official Web site said 123 servicemen committed suicide and six were killed in hazing attacks.
In addition, 58 soldiers died due to negligence and 22 died in traffic accidents.
Last year, a total of 554 servicemen were killed in 21,252 accidents and other non-combat-related incidents in the Russian Armed Forces, the ministry said.
