MOSCOW, July 23 (RIA Novosti) - Top-seeded Russian tennis player Anna Chakvetadze bested seventh-seeded Akiko Morigami of Japan in Cincinnati Sunday to capture her third WTA tour title this year.
Chakvetadze, 20, easily defeated Morigami 6-1, 6-3 in a little over an hour to win the $175,000 purse in the Cincinnati Women's Open.
"I didn't expect it to be so easy," Chakvetadze said after the match. "My goal is to get better and win a Grand Slam - every player wants to win one, and I'm one of them."
The triumph gives Chakvetadze a 5-0 record in WTA tour finals. She was previously victorious in four tour finals - in Guangzhou (China), Moscow, Hobart (Australia) and Hertogenbosch (Netherlands).
