MOSCOW, July 23 (RIA Novosti) - A former Russian deputy economic minister was officially appointed as board chairman of a leading Russian brokerage Monday.
Andrei Sharonov, who had been Deputy Economic Development and Trade Minister for eight years, formally resigned July 19, and Monday took up the post of board chairman at Troika Dialog, part of Troika Dialog Group led by Ruben Vardanyan, a pioneer of the Russian stock market.
Troika Dialog accounts for 44% of operations on the classical shares market in the Russian Trading System and manages over $3.7 billion of funds. It doubled turnover in 2006 to over $160 billion.
