WASHINGTON, July 26 (RIA Novosti) - A NASA medical panel has established that U.S. astronauts flew while heavily intoxicated on at least two occasions, an international aviation weekly reported Thursday.
Aviation Week & Space Technology, which obtained the panel's findings, said "flight surgeons and other astronauts warned they were so intoxicated that they posed a flight-safety risk."
A member of the medical panel, which comprises doctors, psychologists, legal and security experts and several astronauts, said on condition of anonymity that the report was still in a draft form and could be released in August.
A press conference on the issue is scheduled for Friday.
