LVOV, August 7 (RIA Novosti) - Neurosurgeons successfully removed a tumor from the brain of an 18-day-old baby in Lvov, western Ukraine, one of the doctors said Tuesday.
The baby is in a satisfactory condition after the 40-minute operation, he said.
The surgeons used Ukraine's first fiber endoscope, an optic device for high-precision scanning that enables neurosurgery to be conducted with minimum intrusions into the patient's brain. The $34,000 device was bought with Lvov budget funds.
