* A platoon commander with the patrol and inspection service in Grozny, in the Chechen capital, accidentally shot himself with a Kalashnikov rifle and was hospitalized, a local law enforcement agency said
* Two police officers were wounded and later taken to hospital in Ingushetia, when an unknown gunman fired at their car, local police said
* A police chief in the Sunzha region of Ingushetia Isa Merzhoyev was shot in the head and chest Saturday and is currently in intensive care after unknown gunmen tried to assassinate him for the fourth time, the local Ministry of Internal Affairs said
