GAZA/TEL AVIV, August 21 (RIA Novosti) - Two Palestinian children aged 10 and 12 were killed and another child was severely wounded in an Israeli attack in north Gaza on Tuesday, a spokesman for a local hospital said.
Israeli soldiers said they had opened fire at a group of Palestinians who they thought were militants. "They were seen near launching pads used earlier in an attack against Israel," an army source told a RIA Novosti correspondent.
Three Islamist Palestinian fighters were killed in an Israeli air raid in central Gaza earlier in the day, a Gaza City radio station reported, citing eyewitnesses.
A separate Israeli air strike on Monday killed six people, according to Palestinian medical officials. Tel Aviv said the men were members of a group that fired rockets into Israel.
