NIZHNY NOVGOROD, August 24 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's Pavlovsky Bus Plant (PAZ) is holding talks with Brazilian bus manufacturer Marco Polo to form a joint venture for production of small class buses, the head of the GAZ Group's buses department said Friday.
Sergei Zanozin said the results of the talks will be announced during the Interavto-2007 car salon, to be held in Moscow between August 29 and September 4. He said the buses will be produced jointly in Russia and assembly could begin this year.
PAZ is a part of Russia's GAZ Group, which was established in 2005 after RusPromAvto restructured its production assets.
Based in Nizhny Novgorod, GAZ supplies vehicles to 29 countries in the former Soviet Union, Eastern Europe, Southeast Asia, Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East.
Altogether, GAZ produces about 200,000 vehicles a year.
