NAZRAN, August 29 (RIA Novosti) - Three servicemen were killed when an armored personnel carrier crashed into an off road in the Ingush capital Nazran, in the North Caucasus Wednesday, a source in the republic's Interior Ministry said.
The accident occurred when a traffic policeman stopped a Lada car for a search, the off road vehicle, which was traveling behind the Lada, braked. The armored vehicle's driver failed to stop in time crashing into both the off road vehicle and the Lada. All three servicemen who were in the off road vehicle were killed.
The Lada driver and passenger had a narrow escape and were not injured.
A team of investigators is working at the scene. The driver of the armored vehicle was suspected of being drunk and was sent for a medical examination.
