On Tuesday, August 28, star gazers on the West Coast of the United States witnessed a spectacular natural phenomenon - a full lunar eclipse that lasted for one and a half hours. The first stage of the eclipse started at 01:51 hrs local time, and in one hour the Moon was completely immersed in the Earth's umbra, until 04:22 in the morning. A partial lunar eclipse was visible on the West Coast for another hour, until 05:24 in the morning (4:24 p.m. Moscow time).
The East Coast was less lucky since the eclipse there lasted for just half an hour before sunrise.
