MAKHACHKALA, September 6 (RIA Novosti) - Police in Daghestan have discovered an underground explosives workshop in a residential home in the Khasavyurt district, in northern Daghestan, a source in the republic's Interior Ministry said.
Investigators and sappers discovered six improvised explosive devices, made from 50-kilogram (100-pound) metal barrels packed with explosives and shrapnel, 120 kilograms (240 pounds) of ammonium nitrate, 38 detonators, an RPG-26 rocket launcher and ammunition.
The barrels were removed and destroyed.
The source said the devices were made to commit terrorist attacks against the republic's law enforcement bodies, as police also found hand-drawn plans of Khasavyurt's police department and the republic's department on organized crime.
