The top seed and world number one finished off the Russian 6-1, 6-3 on Saturday night, for her seventh grand-slam crown. Last year, Henin missed out on the trophy, losing in the final to Russia's Maria Sharapova.
Henin now has a win record of 15-2 against Kuznetsova. On the way to the final, the 25-year-old Belgian beat both Williams sisters - Serena in the quarterfinals, and Venus in the semis.
Henin called the victory one of the most important of her career, and her Russian opponent praised the champion for her "unbelievable" run, in which she cruised to the final without dropping a set in two-weeks.
In the men's tournament, Switzerland's top seed Roger Federer dismissed fourth seed Russian Nikolai Davydenko 7-5, 6-1, 7-5. The world number one will face Serbia's Novak Djokovic Sunday in the title match.
