MOSCOW, September 22 (RIA Novosti) - A Russian tourist has been found dead in a hotel at the resort city of Antalya in southwestern Turkey, a Russian diplomat said.
The body of Vitaly Bukovsky, 26, was discovered Friday in an elevator well at the hotel.
"He [Bukovsky] was supposed to join a Russian tourist group at the airport before flying home, but he never showed up," Russian Vice Consul in Antalya Sergei Koritsky said.
He did not provide specific information about the incident but said that nobody from the hotel staff had seen Bukovsky in the past three days.
"The local police have started an investigation into Bukovsky's death," Koritsky said.
Turkey is a popular destination for Russian tourists. In the first six months of the year, a total of 634, 000 Russians visited Turkish resorts.
