MOSCOW, September 25 (RIA Novosti) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has appointed airborne troops commander Colonel General Alexander Kolmakov first deputy defense minister, the Kremlin press service said Tuesday.
Kolmakov, 52, was appointed airborne troops commander in September 2003 after serving as deputy commander of the Far East military district's troops.
Kolmakov's new appointment follows the Russian government reshuffle, which was announced Monday after Putin dismissed Mikhail Fradkov's cabinet September 12.
