MOSCOW, October 13 (RIA Novosti) - Six people were killed in a major car crash in the Sverdlovsk Region of Russia's Urals, local police reported.
In the Friday accident, a Zhiguli drove into the incoming lane on the Yekaterinburg-Tyumen highway, and collided head-on with a Mazda. Both drivers were killed, along with four passengers, a police source said.
Driving into the opposite lane is one the most common violations of road safety rules in Russia, with 40-50 cases registered daily. Under national law, an offender faces a suspension of his or her driver's license for four to six months.
