MOSCOW, October 22 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's gross domestic product grew by 5.6 % in September year-on-year, and by 7.4% in the first nine months year-on-year, the economics ministry said Monday.
The GDP rate for September this year is lower than last year which is explained by a slight decline in industrial growth last month estimated at 0.1%, the ministry said.
"GDP growth in September-December last year was very high, and against lower growth rates this year it does not look that good," the ministry said.
GDP in August was 6.4% and 7.7% in the first eight months of 2007 year-on-year.
