MINSK, October 28 (RIA Novosti) - The Belarus opposition is holding on Sunday an authorized rally to commemorate the victims of the Stalin-era repressions.
Several hundred people holding white-red-white flags have gathered at Kuropaty, an area on the outskirts of the Belarusian capital where a large number of victims of the Stalinist repressions were buried.
According to various estimates, from 30,000 to 150,000 people were shot to death at Kuropaty during the years of Stalin's purges.
The demonstrators, most of whom are young people, are intending to install wooden crosses at the burial site.
